Why This Trip Was Different (and How It Helped Me Grow as a Host)

I was invited to experience this journey by the tourism boards of Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta as part of their "hosted buyers" program for GALA2025. While parts of the trip were poorly planned, I learned a lot about the intricacies of organizing a hosted trip, which will undoubtedly help in my future travel planning and hosting my own luxury group vacations. But once I sent them a picture, they understood my excitement. I highly recommend leaving the resort to experience the city's local culture. Explore the Malecon, wander through the Old Town, and indulge in the vibrant food scene. Puerto Vallarta isn’t just a beach destination; it’s a place full of adventures, experiences, and authentic charm that you won’t find at every luxury resort.

Embracing Flexibility: How I Learned to Stay Calm During the Unexpected—A Lesson for Future Luxury Travel Experiences in Mexico

One of the most valuable lessons I took away from this trip was learning how to stay super chill when plans change on the fly—as long as I’m kept in the loop. There were a few moments when things didn’t go as planned, and I had to adapt quickly. We had unexpected delays, got eaten alive by sand fleas, dealt with food poisoning, and missed a few activities. But in those moments, I bonded with my fellow travelers, and we laughed about the mishaps.
